Who We Are

Geovic Mining Corp. is a global mineral exploration and development firm headquartered in Colorado, USA, and incorporated in Delaware. Geovic has invested more than $125 million in various exploration projects around the world, and has leased or acquired acreage to identify significant quantities of uranium, gold, chromite, oil and gas, and other minerals in Arizona, Colorado and Wyoming. Internationally it has projects to mine cobalt and nickel in Cameroon and in New Caledonia to develop chromite deposits, among other minerals.
In Cameroon, Geovic established a local venture, Geocam and identified up to seven sites that contain potentially the largest cobalt deposits in the world. It has the exclusive right from the Government of Cameroon to a mining permit for this project for a term of 25 years and an extension, at the option the company of for 25 more years. Geovic has perfected the technology and engineering to eventually develop these sites in agreement with the government of Cameroon. In 2007, at the request of Cameroon, the company entered into a partnership with Société Nationale d'Investissement du Cameroun (“SNI”) which is a Government of Cameroon owned investment corporation. In 2011, Geovic completed a final feasibility for development of the project and has since selected investors to commence operations upon final approval from Cameroon.
Additionally, through its wholly-owned subsidiaries Geovic Energy and Geovic Mineral Sands, the company is engaged in the strategic acquisition, exploration and development of other mineral properties around the world.
